Night #1 as a dad…
Looking good there brother...
There was a lot to do before baby Harper could be cleared to go home...
Today’s favorite memory = Harper’s hearing test.
Watching two nervous first-time parents as they awaited Harper’s results…
And the realization that hits: you have zero control over the results…
You know that their hearts are cheering her on, wishing they could pass the test for her…
But one can only look at the screen and pray to the One who is in control of all things…
And three minutes feels like a lifetime…
And a thousand “what-if’s” run through their minds…
Till “pass” pops up on the screen and huge smiles break out all over their faces…
But hey, what do I know? I have yet to stand in their shoes…
I’m just guessing, based on my front row seat…
Then, as guests began to file in to say their congrats and snuggle baby Harper, the parents and I snuck out for some cheesecake and a few laps around the local mall. I came back with this for Mr. Jeff…
And, sadly, today was dad’s last day. But he soaked it up for all it was worth; we didn’t leave the hospital till after 10:30pm.
Because how precious is she?
