Matt's Corner

Christmas 2010 :)

Twas Saturday morning Christmas, and all through the house,
Brilliant rays of sunshine purged away our drowse,
Our beloved family together, something’s in the air; yes, that’s it… so much warmth and care,
All are ready, for our family breakfast affair.

It’s our first year at home, this won’t be dull,
Gathered around the table, stuffing our bellies oh so full,
Till the time has come, for Matt’s new tradition,
Competing on the Wii, vying for top present-opening position.

The competition tough, archery, golf, and sword-fighting,
Next time you know, to be quick like lightening,
(But of course) the boys are set to open first,
Chris’s first three presents, were definitely the worst.

I’ve never laughed so hard, in all my life,
Just remember, it was from your wife,
The POO-lar-bear present, which does what you think,
After eating his dinner… out it comes, dink!

Thank you for your abundant kindness, so many wonderful gifts,
Load them up on the new beach cart; it’s ready to lift,
Now head for the ocean, it’s our favorite place,
To walk along the sand, at a casual pace.

Our annual Christmas tradition, a stroll down the pier,
So blessed we are, to we have the ocean so near,
Admiring the beauty, of God’s great creation,
Remembering WHY we have Christmas, fills my heart with elation.

There we were, staring out over the dock,
Below, the lovely whisper of water, swelling against the rocks,
Till evening fell and it was time to go,
Nope, I don’t miss living in the snow.

Now at the parents, eating turkey dinner,
Thankful CHRIST came to save us, once enslaved sinners,
This day is special and there’s one thing you should know,
God made a way for us, because He loves us so.

Christmas Eve at the Farrells

their hearts overflow with love

that seemingly splashes onto you…

their house, invariably warm and welcoming…

brimming with the smell of something delicious cooking in the kitchen…

a house full of the sound of children’s laughter…

a haven of rest (especially at 6pm on a Tues. staff night, after a day of hard work)…

filled with cherished memories…

like Christmas Eve 2010 J

celebrating the birth of our Savior together…

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." Luke 2:10-12

Getting Ready for our FIRST ever Team Mueller Christmas at Home :)

Yes, we have been married for just over five years now...
But we've always been away for Christmas...
Making this a year of many firsts...
And this is our very FIRST CHRISTMAS tree :) :) :)
My mom and I saw something like this while Holiday shopping at the local boutiques in Kansas City... she helped me make it :)

FROSTY!
And shimmery candle holders...
And lighted garland!
Matt's grandma made me the stocking on the right... isn't it amazing!?!
More stockings :) (because Santa comes in 3 more sleeps...)
Ready for that first Christmas breakfast at the Jr. Mueller's table...
The view from our front door... more of the same: RAIN!

Entry :)

I'm no fan of clutter... Where to put the rain boots, umbrellas, dog leash, mail key, slippers.... ???
I found these RED lockers on craigslist...
Matt thought they'd look better NOT red...
We went to move the lockers into the garage so I could spray paint them...
I completely threw my back out...
Serious OUCH!
I couldn't even sit up without rolling over onto my side and pushing myself up... SO exasperating...
But he was right...
This color works way better for our house :)
