192/365: House Hunting in KBay

so you already know all about Matt & I’s instantaneous love with the Windward (aka “island paradise”) side of Oahu…
of our immediate attachment to the dreamy beach towns of Kailua & Kaneohe…

well the good/bad news (depending upon how you look at it)
was that there were only five condo’s available in our price range…
5 options within the two cities we had our heart set on…

we hit all five and were done in less than an hour…

afterwards, there we sat, at CPK...
the first place was unanimously our favorite…
in dire need of renovation, but meeting all of our starred priorities…

“should we make an offer?”
(sonar sound on my phone sounds)
I absentmindedly click my phone’s email icon…
it was our preapproval letter from our lender…. we were officially pre-qualified…
hello, timing…
“alrighty, let’s make an offer…”
“this is crazy… we’ve shopped for one hour… I’ve spent longer deciding on a pair of shoes…”

so we made an offer…
we weren’t yet fully committed to moving to Oahu…
but what the heck…

we offered them 40k under asking price…

mind you, there “are no good deals on Hawaii…”
our real estate agent said “it’d be a miracle if we got it at that price…”

TBC...
